Too Wild for Grandma II

I went right into all my old tricks. I moved in with a stripper who eventually took me down to a little rural town, about 30 miles south east of Tulsa, where I met her parents. I didn't know it then, but on that day my life did truly start to change. Her mother's first impression of me was that hell had just walked through her door.

But instead of freaking out, she began to pray for me and her daughter. Her dad was an honest to goodness rancher-cowboy-business man, and much to everyone's surprise, we did hit it off

Too Wild for Grandma

I was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and raised by my Grandmother, Ester Crain. My mom and dad were divorced and married to each other three different times. That is how I came to be raised by my grandmother.

I remember Momma Crain taking me to church a few times when I was little, but nothing steady. Years later, after My Uncle James came home from Vietnam and became a Baptist preacher, he started telling me things about this man named "Jesus".

Don’t Worry… Instead Pray

God’ll Make sure the Law’s Gonna Getcha Boy

However, my luck staying one step ahead of the law eventually began to run out. Four days after my arrest, I was handed a letter through the bars. It was from my wife Carolyn. I sat down on my cot and began to read. I wasn't prepared for this:

"I have given up all hope for you,"

the letter began. "I have prayed for you for seven years, but now I know that not even God could reach that far down in the gutter … not even God could change a man like you. I know that you will be out soon, but I don't want you to see me or the children

The Enforcer

Author of the amazing prison book: "The Enforcer"

Deep seated buried anger in a child is all the devil needs to help drive a wedge between that person and God like little else can do. It took Jack many years of his own pain, and causing others a lot of pain, to understand it.

I was just 13 years old when I began stealing hub caps with my friends. By the time I was 15 years old, I was stealing the whole car. By the age of 21, I was an enforcer for organized crime;

Gill's Christian Testimony

January 3 and April 18 will always be very special days in my life. As the reader of this letter, I must let you know that it is by the grace of God that I am able to share this testimony with you.

My story begins on May 9, 1996. I was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on marijuana possession charges. Though the events which lead up to this are relevant, they are not the focus of this story. Let's just say

God's Gang

I grew up in a strict household. My father was an entrepreneur, a jack of all trades and a union ironworker who oversaw projects like the Jimmy Hendrix museum in Seattle and the construction of the Second Narrows Bridge. He was also maintenance alcoholic - meaning he got a good six beer buzz nearly every night of my life. I rarely saw him drunk though. He collected classic cars and was a self proclaimed king.

As a teen I was not allowed to talk on the phone

Let’s Go

(The Roger Burgess Story)

When one accepts Jesus Christ as one's Savior and Lord, what can one expect? If one is truly sincere about letting God rule the throne of one's heart, you can be assured that God the Father's highest will for your life is to conform you into the image of Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Romans 8:28-29). God wants you to be Christ-like. He desires for you to have the attributes of Himself. This journey of being made Christ-like is often a rocky road. Spiritual growth does not come easy.

Testimony of an Insane other precious former Lost Soul

I was born and raised an only child in Haverhill, Massachusetts. " I learned drinking and fighting was a normal way to live. At the age of six, my parents separated due to the verbal and physical abuse in our home. One of my earliest childhood memories is going to the psychiatrist and looking at pictures of butterflies. Every single picture looked like a butterfly and I remember the doctor getting frustrated at me for not seeing something else.

Conquering Life’s Mountains

The young social worker opened the door of the abandoned building and could not believe what she saw. Trash was all over the floor, including rotten chicken bones and other rotten foods, and in the midst of this disgusting mess were four little girls. These girls were sleeping on old mattresses that were thrown on the floor and a baby bed with a mattress that was oozing its stuffing's and covered in baby excrement.

These four little girls ranged in age nine months to six years old.
