A Pastors Wife’s Poem

This Pastors wife poem is a unique way to tell you Pastor how much we appreciate both you and your wife. We know your wife has a very challenging role to play in our church. She is not considered part of the church staff, but often does a lot of ministry including being your biggest supporter besides the Lord. I know sometimes she sits at home alone wishing you were there, but she is willing to make that sacrifice for both of us.


And while you Pastor are very visible as you teach, lead, and preach, your wife generally ministers in the background.


No matter what path or role your wife plays in the church, I know she often is wishing she was with you, right at your side. On the days you preach I can imagine her wanting to sit beside you just holding your hand and encouraging you.


As you speak the word of God, I know she would like to squeeze your hand to say, that's my guy sharing exactly what God has laid on his heart and it is touching her and growing her too. I know with her at your side, that makes you a better man and a better Pastor.


God is so good! Please accept this Pastors Wife poem to show your wife the appreciation she deserves.


When we thank God for our pastor


We must give Him thanks for two,


For when your husband came to us


God also sent us you.



You have many hats to wear;



as we lift you up in prayer.


You adjust your life to meet the needs


Of your husband's congregation,


And it seems that you can always cope


With most any situation.


Your presence blesses all of us


Who see you from day to day


As our pastor's wife, you too are serving God


In a worthy and special way


After God

I wrote this poem with my pastors wife in mind.. That is because she is always soft, sweet and kind.


She is patient too, and waits for us to be served first, above and beyond what she needs to do.


God and the Angels hand picked her to be my pastors cheerleader , that is why he is our fearless leader!


If I had to make a list of all the things she does and does without to support her man… There would be enough paper to fill a 50 gallon can! (can you tell this is being written by a man?)


It is wonderful how much Jesus loves her and comforts her when you pastor are working overtime feeding your sheep, sometimes we wonder if you get enough sleep!


What does one say to make the pastor's wife… feel special in her life?


I can remind you pastor about her warm smile, her special way… her encouragement each day !


To your staff, your leaders,… your members and even your kitchen feeders


I guess we can tell you Pastor what a great gal you have at your side… You are so blessed to have her as your precious bride!


I imagine many of the young men in the church look at her and say, "that is just what I want my wife to be like on our important day"….


I thank God he gives her the desire to make our Pastor a better man.. It's because of her he says he can.
