Our Pastor… The Captain of our Ship!

If patience is a virtue, Then our Father will be pleased


That you are using the time He's given you, And the opportunity's being Seized.


Your knees should be sore and weakened, From hours bent in prayer


Your back may be heavy laden, With the load placed in your Care.


As you step aside and wait, And let the Lord take control


While you listen for His instructions, As the torrent sometimes takes its Toll.


As you bow with humble yearning, And let our Master run the ship


His Spirit will always reveal, The purpose of your Trip.


I'm sure you beg with earnestness, For the Fathers blessings and His Grace


For the storms have not subsided, But you seem ready to keep "His" Pace.


And as your crew we stand straight and strong, And watch and work and pray


We know you've opened up your heart and we'll all see His Glory Displayed.


Some will scoff and some will laugh, And some will let you down


But your course is true, your sails are full, And we your crew won't let you Drown.


So keep waiting on the Father, continue to let him guide each choice you make


For your journey is ongoing, with each Brand New step we Take.


You've waited when the waters, Were thick with fear and doubt


You've pushed on through the waves, When the ship tossed and turned About.


As the storms have churned all around you, and the direction seemed unclear


When the markers were all hidden, And the wheel was hard to Steer.


You know the course is Holy, Within reach though not always in sight


And the journey will be costly, But definitely worth the Fight.


Things may happen that you don't understand, At an unexpected pace


But your crew is formed and were standing tall looking you in the Face.


We are thankful God has chosen you to be the captain of our ship


He can trust you and so can we as you guide us along this Trip.


For He knew He'd found a people, Who would serve at any cost


Those who needed to find the Savior, The Last, The Least, and The Lost.


Because you are patient, waiting on the Lord, and listening for his voice


You have given us that special peace to trust you in your Choice
